Tyree Continues to Empower the Next Generation of Engineers in the Southern Highlands

The Tyree Foundation is proud to sponsor the Southern Highlands Science and Engineering Challenge as well as the Southern Highlands Discovery Day for another year, continuing a tradition that began with these events’ inception in 2009.

These remarkable initiatives have run for the past 25 years, inspiring students with the exciting possibilities of science and engineering. With industry experts in attendance and a program designed to engage from first introduction to end of day celebrations, The Rotary Club, Engineers Australia and the University of Newcastle have together crafted a meaningful experience for local children in the Southern Highlands. As a major sponsor, Tyree is ecstatic to see this continued success.

Throughout two days, local primary and secondary schools had the opportunity to practice problem solving across a variety of exciting workshops. Activities ranged from building bridges and designing electrical circuits, to solving complex problems and creating sustainable solutions. By working together and using creative thinking, the more than 500 students in attendance were able to experience a taste of engineering.

Tyree’s sponsorship is driven by our mission to a bring about a future where innovation and excellence converge to redefine industry standards. By supporting initiatives like the Science and Engineering Challenge, we aim to ignite a passion for STEM subjects that could lead to future careers in these essential fields. We believe that providing fun ways for young minds to learn about STEM is crucial to ensuring a robust and innovative workforce for years to come.

Tyree remains committed to supporting educational programs that inspire and empower students. We look forward to many more years of partnership with the Rotary Club and relevant partners to support the Southern Highlands Science and Engineering Challenge and the Southern Highlands Discovery Day. In doing so, we continue our work to cultivate a love for science and engineering in students and to ensure a bright future for STEM innovation.
