Empowering Australia’s Energy Future: A Visit from the Australian Energy Regulator

On May 1st we had the pleasure of hosting a tour group from the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), including Board Member Lynne Gallagher.

Tyree appreciated the opportunity to showcase our Australian design & manufacturing capability across an extensive range of transformers and substations designed and manufactured on our Mittagong site. The tour was a great opportunity for Tyree to share our manufacturing capabilities, the emerging opportunities for Tyree and the issues we face in supporting our electricity Distribution Network Service Providers customers whom the AER regulates.

Central to our discussions were the significance of securing long-term supply chains for essential materials and the tangible advantages that local manufacturing brings to our customers. Significantly, we had the opportunity to underscore the significance of transformers within the modern electricity network, one of the key components making up the true “nuts and bolts” of Australia’s energy transition to nett zero.

During the visit, we proudly shared our recent product development around voltage regulation integrated to distribution transformers. These products offer both consumers and electricity networks meaningful benefits in managing voltage levels in networks where high residential solar PV generation is high.

Thank you to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) for their time at Tyree Transformers and the opportunity to highlight Tyree’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in powering Australia’s energy future.
