Tyree Transformers has recently supplied and commissioned a 66/11KV 15/19MVA Power Transformer for the Peabody Energy – Wambo Mine located at Warkworth near Singleton in New South Wales.
The transformer was tightly specified by the client to mechanically and electrically match an existing transformer supplied by another manufacturer.
Tyree carefully designed the unit with tight electrical and mechanical tolerances to achieve this specification, ensuring that the new and existing transformers could be operated in ‘parallel’ connection in the future.
Wholly designed, manufactured and tested by the Tyree team at our Mittagong operations this unit demonstrate our capability in the manufacture of specialised transformer manufacture of the highest quality to exacting client specifications.

Rating: 15/19MVA
Cooling: ONAN/ONAF
Impedance: 4.8%
Tap Changer: On Load Bolt On manufactured by Brush ATL
Shipped fully assembled from our Mittagong works to reduce site installation time, the unit was successful commissioned on site by the Tyree team in less than 3 days from ex-works dispatch.
