The 2020 Sir William Tyree Scholarship recipients announced

Tyree are pleased to announce the worthy recipients of the Sir William Tyree scholarships in engineering who will each receive $15,000 per year for each year of their study programs.

The 2020 winners are:

Craig Findlay from Ascot Vale, Victoria – studying Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) (Honours) at RMIT in Melbourne

Liam Thipphavong from Bulli, New South Wales –  studying Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at the University of Wollongong

George Mugisha from Lake Heights, New South Wales – studying Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Honours) at the University of Wollongong

Tyree Managing Director Keian Barnard, when announcing the scholarship winners commented; “This year it was a very difficult choice for the selection panel to select the scholarship winners as we had a large number of applications from regional students who had achieved excellent academic results often whilst experiencing various forms of disadvantage. The team at the Tyree businesses are very pleased to see Sir William’s legacy continued by supporting the education of Australia’s future engineers and we know he would be very excited to witness this year’s scholars complete their engineer’s degrees over the next four years.”
