Tyree Transformers has recently manufactured and installed two power transformers for a new 66kV Substation constructed by Beon Energy Solutions for a new hyper-scale Data Centre. The 66kV Substation is located at Derrimut Victoria and will power Melbourne’s largest data centre and Australia’s first hyper scale data centre.
Both transformers were delivered and energised in March 2017 and are rated at 66/22kV, 25/33MVA, ONAN/ONAF with 17 position on load tap changers. The units are designed to a full power utility grade specification and each unit was successfully routine and type tested to AS60076 including achieving a 150% (49MVA) four hour overload duty. Each transformer instrumentation and controls incorporated the latest Schweitzer Laboratories SEL transformer on-line monitoring, control and automation hardware and NEOPTIC fibre optic temperature sensing equipment.
Our Tyree Transformers field service team successfully completed the site unloading, assembly, testing and pre-commissioning of both transformers in record time, ensuring the overall substation project was delivered on time for our customer Beon Energy Solutions and the end client.
This is another success for the Tyree Transformers team in providing transformers for major projects in what is a very exciting phase of infrastructure growth within Australia.
