Team Tyree recently hosted 17 talented scholars at our factories in NSW, offering a comprehensive look into our operations and manufacturing processes. Demonstrating our #FutureReady values, we provided insights from experienced leaders and engineers, as well as an exclusive tour of our cutting-edge facilities.
Tyree Transformers are proud to be a leading name in the transformer manufacturing industry. As part of the Tyree Group, we are not only expanding our business horizons but also deepening our commitment to the next generation. The Sir William Tyree Foundation is a key reflection of this, providing support to engineering education and research in Australia. Its’ philanthropic efforts have resulted in many opportunities, including the exceptional Sir William Tyree Scholarship Program.
The Scholarships aids high-performing engineering students across a range of fields from all over Australia. Each provides financial support and can include work experience within The Tyree Group, allowing students to apply engineering theory in designing and manufacturing electrical equipment like transformers, switchgear, and substations. Tyree scholars are equipped with practical skills and industry exposure, paving the way for them to become future engineering leaders.
A Day with Future Leaders
The scholars received personalised walkthroughs of our facilities, witnessing firsthand the intricate processes involved in transformer manufacturing. From the initial design phase to final quality checks, these tours offered an in-depth understanding of our operations. Students were amazed by the advanced technology and sustainable practices we employ.
Matt Brand, one of the scholars, shared his excitement: “It was cool seeing the full lifecycle of the transformer from start to end.” He was particularly impressed by the detailed explanations of how theoretical concepts work in action. His enthusiasm highlights the educational value of witnessing an entire manufacturing process firsthand.
Lily Jones, another scholar, added, “It was really great to meet some of the people involved in the company and the foundation.” She appreciated the opportunity to interact with our team members and learn about their diverse roles and career paths. Engaging with industry professionals provided Lily and the other scholars with valuable insights into the complex career options within the engineering field.
In addition to the tour, scholars engaged with key leaders from Tyree Transformers through an interactive Q&A session. This session was a highlight of the day, with students asking insightful questions about industry trends, career pathways, and the innovative tech shaping the future of transformer manufacturing.
Supporting The Next Generation
Events like these underscore Tyree Transformers’ dedication to supporting STEM education and inspiring young talent. We firmly believe in empowering the next generation to pursue excellence in their careers, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow’s industries.
The Sir William Tyree Foundation as a member of the Tyree Group, plays a crucial role in this mission by providing invaluable support to educational initiatives in engineering and related fields. Through this and other continued ventures, we aim to create meaningful avenues to empower students to reach their full potential within the Australian engineering landscape.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this day. Your enthusiasm and engagement made it an unforgettable experience for the scholars and reinforced our commitment to engineering excellence. We look forward to hosting more events that inspire and empower. Together, we can drive innovation forward.
