UOW Sir William Tyree Engineering Scholarships

Tyree Transformers are pleased to announce this year’s recipients of the Sir William Tyree Scholarships for Engineering studies at the University of Wollongong. The 2019 scholarship winners are Lachlan Pocock from Albury and Sam Eberle from Stockinbingal New South Wales who are both studying a four year Bachelor of Engineering Honours program. The scholarships are valued at $15,000 per year over their four study program and are intended to support their living expenses whilst living away from their families and ensuring they are able focus on their studies.

Both students have taken up life on campus in Wollongong having moved from rural NSW. Lachlan and Sam will be spending time in the Tyree transformer factories over their mid-year break and looking forward to gaining industrial experience as well as applying their theoretical learnings.

In congratulating Lachlan and Sam on their scholarships, Tyree Transformer General Manager of Engineering & Technical Lead Michael Stack commented; “It is pleasing for Tyree to be able to support students from rural areas in their education at University of Wollongong and ensuring they are able to focus on developing their engineering and practical skills without financial pressures”.
