“I am delighted to have been given the challenge of leading the Tyree Sales and Marketing team into the company’s next, new and exciting stage of development. Our return to the Power market, lead by our Founder, Sir William Tyree, is building on a long, proud and prosperous heritage. Our new leaner and more flexible manufacturing disciplines give our highly respected Distribution product an even more distinctive edge in its marketplace. My role is to help our team to effectively spread the good news and continue to build stronger relationships with our customers.

“We have also recently undertaken a brand review of the company to better reflect our new position in the marketplace, one that sees us as always being 'future ready' and highly adaptable. In arriving at this positioning, we went back to the core values of our Founder – 'to always be looking for a better way' and embraced them throughout the company. A recent, extensive customer survey provided valuable insights into customer needs and the benchmarks we must meet and exceed."

Barry has a broad range of experience involving sales, marketing and logistics within the energy sector, building and construction and industrial products. He has been responsible for multi-site, multi-channel distribution networks with extensive breath of product offers . His most recent experience before joining Tyree was with The Laminex Group, a division of Fletcher Building, where he managed the sales and distribution functional area within Australia and New Zealand.

When he is not helping customers to find a better way, Barry enjoys time with his family and working on lowering his golf handicap!

“People often underestimate the role played by Finance in the Sales process. Here at Tyree we work closely with Barry and his team, helping make the sales transaction as smooth as possible. At the same time, we are also often building a close, personal relationship with the customer, helping them with various finance options and payment terms.

“We are also always looking for better ways to serve our customers, for example, electronic invoicing – no more slow mail - and better security.”

Cheryl has a Bachelor of Business, Commerce Certificate and CPA training.
