A position exists in our Power Transformer Division for a practical and experienced Production Engineer. The role is a terrific opportunity for a University Graduate in Engineering with experience in manufacturing and a willingness to develop into senior management in a growing local industry.

ELECTRICAL PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER


Position Description

To ensure continued improvement and growth, Tyree is seeking a self motivated engineer to assist with product development, design, and implementation.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will initially be involved in product improvement projects to ensure Tyree products are best in class and meet all customer and Australian Standard requirements.

As your experience grows, you will become involved in product design and development, including implementation of new product into the manufacturing plant and supervision of work to ensure requirements are met.

Preferred applicants will have tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering with experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Your ability to apply sound engineering logic, competent AutoCAD drafting skills and project co-ordination will be critical to your success in this role.

Key selection criteria include:

  • Graduate Electrical Engineer with at least 5 years experience.
  • Experience in transformer and/or substation design. Medium and high voltage design preferable.
  • Familiarity with AS2374 and other relevant Power Transformer Australian Standards would be highly regarded.
  • Design office experience and working as a member of a design team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, across all levels of an organization.
  • Hands-on person who is willing to be active in their assistance to production staff.
  • “Can do” attitude with a positive work ethic and willingness to help out at every opportunity.
  • Ability to deal with change within an organization and to move on to new goals in a positive and enthusiastic manner.

This position will ideally suit a developing Engineer who is seeking to gain valuable engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Established engineers looking for long term stability are also encouraged to apply.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER


Position Description

An experienced Mechanical Engineer is required for a hands on role at Tyree Mittagong

Tyree Industries, an Australian owned manufacturing company located in the Southern Highlands region of NSW, is seeking a self motivated mechanical engineer or suitably qualified technician to join their product design team.

Tyree has been a leader in the design and manufacture of distribution transformers for many years and this position will help to ensure that the company can meet the challenges of the future.

Ideally suited to a mechanical engineer with several years experience in a manufacturing environment, you will be involved in the development of products from time of order through to delivery to the customer.

Working side by side with a small design team, you will be required to use Solid Works and Auto Cad drafting packages, generate bills of materials within our MRP system and communicate special requirements directly to the shop floor.

Providing support to production staff during manufacture will be a key function. Your experience in trouble shooting and root cause analysis, along with excellent communication skills, will enable projects to proceed smoothly.

OPERATIONS MANAGER OR FACTORY MANAGER (Ref OM1)

 

This position involves the day to day supervision and co-ordination of manufacturing operations producing distribution and power transformers as well as pad mount and kiosk units. The company policy is to be as vertically integrated as possible and this role would have responsibility for a range of functional areas supporting this approach.

 

COIL WINDERS (Ref CW1)

 

Coil winders capable of winding transposed transformer coils up to 50 MVA are required in our new Power Division factory. Applicants should provide details of experience in coil winding. Expertise in transformer assembly work would also be an advantage.

 

SENIOR ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER (Ref SETE1)

 

An electrical test engineer is required in our new power transformer factory. Applicants should be competent with all testing of transformers and experience with impulse testing would be an advantage.

 

MECHANICAL DESIGN DRAFTSMAN (Ref MDD1)

 

The mechanical design draftsman will report to the Technical Manager and be responsible for CAD design and drafting utilizing Solidworks and Autocad. It is essential that the candidate have experience in both CAD platforms and demonstrate ability to produce accurate anddetailed drawings for manufacturing and fabrication.

 

TECHNICAL SALES SUPPORT (Ref TSS1)

 

This role will be working closely with engineering, customer service and sales to assist in preparing tenders and quotations and responding to technical sales enquiries.

 

DESIGN ENGINEERS (Ref DE1)

 

There are opportunities for both Electrical and Mechanical design engineers to join the Tyree engineering team. Applicants are required to design distribution or power transformers.

Successful applicants would also be conversant with manufacturing to ensure design is created in compliance with customer specs and quality expectations. Experience in Solid Works and AutoCad an advantage.

 

KIOSK SUBSTATION TECHNICIAN (Ref KST1)

 

A new factory and department has been built to design and assemble complete substation kiosks. Successful applicants should have experience in all areas of kiosk substation manufacture and a working understanding of LV and HV switch gear. Applicants should have an understanding of and experience with the relevant Australian standards etc.
